My Experience With The Narrative

We were told to write this assignment,we were also given certain instruction how we should do it. I thought that my writing was still needing to be worked on I also was in a little bit of a predicament  when I started to write because I was confused on how I will connect the book I chose with my experience with writing. I also thought it was going to be difficult to change my writing so I wouldn’t get the same things incorrect as my introductory letter. More importantly I liked the assignment.

My expectation of how the next couple of assignments did change because of the narrative I never had to do one before so it was a little different than other assignments I had in the past. The introductory letter did prepare me because when I got it back there were correction I had to make, getting it back also gave me insight on things I have to look out for in my future assignments. I was getting the hang of the MLA format when writing my narrative.

My process for writing the literacy narrative was choosing the book that I really enjoyed

and mainly tried new approaches when writing the narrative when employing those approaches it was kinda all over the place, I couldn’t really think of what to write so it made it difficult to even start writing the narrative. It took me a while to start things off but when I did it was okay I still didn’t get into the groove when I did. I wrote a to z instead of thinking about it before starting to write. I also saw that the narrative would have been easier if I actually planned it out.

I did experience missteps because I got frustrated with the narrative because I didn’t know how to go about with it, it was really different compared to introductory letter. I feel that my process of writing could be improved because I feel that if I’m supposed to write more papers for college I would need to have a better way to make them. I feel that they are developing but not as I hoped they would but I feel that I can improve them I push myself more. I see that my writing has changed a little since the beginning of the semester because I have started to look for my mistakes a lot more and have been more cautious of them in order to improve my writing I would have to thoroughly read over my first drafts and actually make corrections to them.

I think I fixed some run on sentences really did make my narrative sink because it didn’t make sense and ruined the whole thing. I didn’t seek any help from a tutor or from the writing center. I try to mainly make an introduction to my narrative because I was missing that in my first draft and the way that my narrative was written like it had run on sentences that I had to elaborate more on to make my narrative actually sound better. I felt that my peers challenges were correct because after I read the corrections I needed to make I realized that those were the problems in my narrative. I had to look it over a lo more and give it more thought to how I was going to fix them. I looked at mainly the parts that my peer put the corrections for and I had to reread most of them and simply fix how they were worded or or fix the bad grammar that was used in that sentence.

I really liked the assignment even though I think I didn’t do so well on it I feel that it was great experience. I also felt that when we were given this assignment that the instructions were clear enough for us to make a  good narrative. I also think while we were starting to gather ideas on our narrative we should have also planned them in class like make an outline for the next one.
